Street lights are a very important part of every city's design plan. These lights are used to illuminate sidewalks, roads, and dangerous areas to help keep people safe. They also help people be more aware of what's going on around them at night. Adding new Street lights involves wiring the new lights to an existing power source and also wiring the control unit, which will turn the lights on and off depending on the amount of light hitting the photoelectric cell.

Things You'll Need:

12-3 electrical wire
1 Street light
Wire cutters
Wire strippers
Photoelectric light controller

Shut off the power source before beginning any wiring. Also, review the supplied maufacturer's wiring diagram to verify proper wiring procedures. Different manufacturer's wire their units differently.

Connect one end of the red wire in the 12-3 cable to the light side of the control unit. Connect the other end of the red wire to one of the two light bulb terminals of the light bulb. Connect one end of the black common wire to the black common terminal of the control unit.

Connect the second end of the black wire to the hot black wire of the power source. Now connect one end of the white wire to the white wire connector on the control unit. Connect the other end to the white wire of the power source.
